It's been a busy time lately, but after a long wait the website is up! It's been up a little while already, I've just not gotten around to announcing it here with everything else that's going on!

The blog is also located there now with even better content on the way, so this one will no longer be written in. I'll leave it up for archival purposes though :)

There, a huge, luminous orange sun installation is on display. It's what brought me here, and it made for a fantastic start to the day!
My journey started yesterday, coming all the way from the hills and valleys of South Wales to the bustling metropolis that is central London. A few things have changed since I last wrote. I've been working hard in college (I got a 1st in my last essay!), thinking up article ideas for Light Stalking, arranging test shoots and recently I've been pouring over my website and getting that done.

This was an idea that came to mind one evening, just for a bit of fun and something different. It morphed a bit from the original idea, which was to have the eye with the pattern peeping out between some hair. I messed my hair up to give the image more texture, and decided I liked it better this way :) View it larger over at Flickr!

It was absolutely exhausting, but I learnt a decent amount of stuff, met people I'd met the year before and got some great new equipment! It was non-stop laughter, and we had lovely weather too as an added bonus.

So eventful in fact, I managed to really strain my legs, abs and pretty much everything else and spent most of Thursday walking around like an extremely ungraceful extra from Thriller. It's all because of my jumping around the studio (almost) tirelessly in a floaty white dress, all while Emmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03747781543019669284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022062378897028821.post-75194964614832901432011-02-21T15:50:00.000+00:002011-02-21T15:50:00.023+00:00New ideas, and what to expect when arranging a photo shootIt's a bit of a long one this time, so grab a cup of tea and snuggle up and get comfy. Thankfully most things will be out of the way by the end of this week, but the tiny light at the end of the tunnel are the new ideas and projects that I can't wait to get started.
Firstly, today myself and a few other second, third and first years Emmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03747781543019669284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022062378897028821.post-85569723718503421262011-01-21T18:29:00.000+00:002011-01-21T18:29:48.313+00:00Wedding BellsI'm really happy as I write this as I've received my first two jobs to shoot weddings! The first is a wedding evening-do that takes place next week and the other is a ceremony in September. I'm so excited! I'm also a little nervous, but I know I'll be ok. They're all very lovely people and I can't wait to meet them.
I'm really looking forwards to building a big portfolio of beautiful wedding Emmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03747781543019669284noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022062378897028821.post-78197180802859694382011-01-14T11:44:00.000+00:002011-01-14T11:44:08.764+00:00My new lens! A mini review. So, as some of you may know already, I recently got myself a new lens! I saved up and got the lens I've wanted for a while - the Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8. So far, it's worth every penny I paid for it, and it keeps getting better and better. I decided to give you my thoughts on it so far, a mini first impressions review I suppose :)
So what prompted me to get it? Well, aside from the obvious, recentlyEmmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03747781543019669284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022062378897028821.post-26008434778282948792011-01-13T21:09:00.000+00:002011-01-13T21:09:19.201+00:00Bag Lady Part 3, and other recent stuff! This blog is well overdue for an update. I was so busy with my AoP project "Bag Lady" and getting it finished in time that most other things got pushed to the wayside. I had another project going on at the same time (group cinematics) which didn't help matters at all, as I had to juggle my time and be in two places at once. But, it got done in the end!
I was also really, really ill when I was Emmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03747781543019669284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022062378897028821.post-89292980717281893362010-12-02T22:14:00.001+00:002010-12-02T22:37:30.868+00:00Bag Lady - Part 2I'm currently curled up with my laptop, listening to Arcade Fire and writing this after a hard day's work. Today, while not entirely planned to pan out this way, was the first day of my Bag Lady shoot. I had to bring it forwards since the studio was pretty much all booked up for next week, and I'd already booked the large studio for today in case I needed it. Thankfully I found out about this a Emmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03747781543019669284noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022062378897028821.post-7166573923918121042010-11-15T10:46:00.000+00:002010-11-15T10:46:07.320+00:00Bag LadyMy latest projects are the AoP competition and a cinematic brief for college. The AoP is the one I'm pretty excited about, since it's a live project with a chance of winning. I didn't have a clue what I'd do for a while, and was busy with 365 Days jotting down ideas in my sketchbook. I did have one idea come to me however one night after looking through a friend's halloween dressing up Emmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03747781543019669284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022062378897028821.post-24834118961022806692010-10-20T21:22:00.007+01:002010-11-04T23:13:30.705+00:00A creative use of flowersWell, it's the second week of 365 and I'm still going strong, I love this project so much. It really tests you and drives you to do better pictures. So yesterday, I was in the studio again, large tea and toast nearby while I got ready to set up. It was a lot of fun, and involved flowers, petals, glue and my face. And a ring flash. I've included images of the setup I had, along with failed photos Emmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03747781543019669284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022062378897028821.post-25517575418453941502010-10-11T21:02:00.000+01:002010-10-11T21:02:22.712+01:00365 Days ChallengeSome of you may have heard of the 365 days challenge, and others might not have done. For those who don't know, there's a group on Flickr called "365 Days" where the sole aim of the group is to show a collection of images from several people all over the world who take one photo of themselves each day of the year (or as many as they can manage) and then upload it to the group. It doesn't have to Emmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03747781543019669284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022062378897028821.post-8515294693932912010-10-07T20:38:00.001+01:002010-10-07T20:38:56.259+01:00Monsters! Grrr...arrrrg!Yesterday I figured I'd try a new self portrait, and I toyed around for a while with ideas, wondering what I'd do. I somehow came to the conclusion that a monsters theme would be a good idea. Maybe it has to do with various film trailers I've seen recently, or certain adverts on the internet, or the sudden influx of halloween merchandise in the shops, but I sat there smiling to myself as I Emmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03747781543019669284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022062378897028821.post-60887223028166282272010-09-30T20:56:00.000+01:002010-09-30T20:56:33.915+01:00Self Portrait #1Remember in my last post how I mentioned I'd be doing a self portrait?
Well, I've got a self portrait, but this isn't the one I had in mind back then. That one is still on the way.

I'm not too sure where the idea came from, I just woke up and decided I'd do a self portrait that day. I think part of it was Emmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03747781543019669284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022062378897028821.post-24818139049868059552010-09-01T22:19:00.002+01:002010-09-01T22:34:50.539+01:00A view of what's to come...Recently I had an idea for a new shoot. This shoot will be different to my usual sort though...this time the model will be yours truly. It'll be a portrait kind of image, though my emphasis will remain strongly on fashion themes. So it's a lot less about me, and more about the final image. I'll just be sitting there looking dolled up to the nines.
I'm hoping the images turn out the way I want Emmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03747781543019669284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022062378897028821.post-89061851463918331932010-08-24T21:24:00.002+01:002010-08-25T00:12:40.957+01:00All's well that ends wellToday has made me pretty happy! First of all, I got a brand new external HDD for a very reasonable price, and it's now blinking red and blue lights at me to tell me it's busy backing up all my work. It's very quiet too. And fast!
I was rather desperate to get an external HDD since recently my internal HDD had announced it had problems and needed to be repaired. Alas, I couldn't do anything with Emmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03747781543019669284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022062378897028821.post-75649567735985862892010-08-19T23:05:00.002+01:002010-08-20T11:26:00.709+01:00My mini adventure in Cardiff
If you've been following my blog, you'll know I went to Cardiff yesterday. The only thing I had planned was roughly how to get there and back, what I was taking with me and that I'd be meeting with a friend. I didn't know when I was coming back, but I figured it was going to be sometime before dinner or until I was tired of walking around.
My day started with me getting up at 8, getting ready Emmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03747781543019669284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022062378897028821.post-52423070740923212782010-08-17T21:40:00.003+01:002010-08-17T21:44:03.862+01:00I'm running away to Cardiff!...for the duration of tomorrow, anyway. I wanted to be a teeny bit spontaneous and also wanted to take some photos of examples of symmetry and pattern in the city for my project, so what better place than Cardiff? I'll end up in Swansea at some point too, though not tomorrow. So, I'm going to get ready for a hike around the concrete jungle.
I figured Cardiff would be a better option for me Emmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03747781543019669284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022062378897028821.post-49271235276648315772010-08-11T13:19:00.000+01:002010-08-11T13:19:30.748+01:00Making New HabitsLife has a habit of throwing you curveballs from time to time. But I'm glad to say I'm back on track and producing more work! Remember those images I kept promising I had? Here are my favourites!
Also, I resubmitted my Model Mayhem application the other night, and woke up to it approved and ready for work. So, before long I should have a few shoots with other MM users and models under my Emmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03747781543019669284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022062378897028821.post-56163293007286722612010-06-02T23:52:00.002+01:002010-06-03T00:06:09.772+01:00Freeeee!I'm free at last! I get my results for my last project on the 7th along with a summer assignment, so that'll be interesting to find out. I've been editing some past shoots since I did all the shortlisting in my project, so they'll be up after I've finished painting and decorating :)
So yeah, I just thought I'd let you all know I'm still around and haven't forgotten about you :)
